Janet Li

PA-C

Janet was born and raised in the DFW area. She attended Frisco Centennial High School, and decided to pursue becoming a Physician Assistant (PA) after seeing the humanistic aspect of medicine through a personal family experience and doing more research into the role of PAs. She was involved in health science courses throughout her junior and senior years of high school, and worked as a CNA at local hospitals/nursing homes. Her ambitions to go to college somewhere out-of-state eventually took her to Cornell University in Ithaca, NY for her undergraduate studies. It was a big change, but nonetheless exciting. It was there that she met some of her closest friends and obtained her BA in an interdisciplinary major called Biology and Society. She also studied abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark her last year.

After applying for PA school, she was eventually led to attend UT Health Science Center at San Antonio for their 30-month program. During PA school, Janet was voted Outstanding Clinical Student from her graduating class and was involved in a local writing initiative called San Antonio People Project. Out of all her clinical rotations, she most enjoyed outpatient pediatrics because of her love for working with children. Janet has always loved being around children. Growing up, she served in her church’s Children’s Ministry for several years and taught/tutored younger kids in music lessons or academics. PA Li actually rotated here at our clinic for the last 2.5 months of her schooling, and decided to stay on as a new hire! She graduated with her Master of Physician Assistant Studies in December of 2022 and became a certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) shortly after.

She currently lives in Richardson, TX. When not here at SHINE, you can find her writing away (reflections/stories/poetry/blogging), being involved in her local church, getting work done at various coffee shops, spending personal time with family and friends, playing guitar, doing yoga, or actively supporting the Dallas Mavericks (Go Mavs!!). She is excited to start her career at SHINE and engage in lifelong learning to help support our families and their beloved kiddos. She strongly believes in the power of forming personal connections with our patients and getting to know our families, for she believes that is the way that she will be able to provide her most comprehensive and absolute best care. Her favorite part about practicing integrative medicine is seeing every child as a whole person and providing specific healthcare to his/her specific needs. She loves that it is a field to continue learning and growing in, and aspires to always empower parents to make the best-informed decisions for their children!
