I was born and raised in Dallas, TX. My mother came to the United States from Nigeria over 30 years ago and pursued a career in nursing. She has been a nurse for over 20 years. Her passion for nursing and love for patients led me to follow down the path to become a nurse as well. I graduated from Plano West Senior High School and obtained my first bachelor’s degree in Community Health from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2011. I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Lamar University in 2014. During my nursing school rotations, I quickly grew a liking to the pediatric field and knew I would pursue a long-term career working with this demographic. I have been working in pediatrics since graduating from nursing school six+ years ago and have learned so much working in different types of pediatric settings. In 2018, I went back to school to obtain my Master of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Texas at El Paso and became a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner specializing in primary care. I have loved being able to care for kids in a primary care setting to help them become as healthy as possible through preventative medication and aid them back to good health when they are ill. I recently moved back to my home state of Texas after working as a pediatric nurse practitioner in Georgia where I had an amazing experience. It is an honor to be a part of the amazing team at Shine Pediatrics. I currently live in Plano and enjoy spending time with my friends and family, running in the parks around the metroplex, cycling, and volunteering in the community when I can.
